Our Policies

Indera Tamara Communications is built on a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. From the start, our mission has been to ensure that people from diverse backgrounds are represented authentically and have greater control over their narratives in the media. Our work in arts and culture reflects this focus, representing a wide range of stories, identities, and experiences.

Equity

Equity is about fairness and opportunity. We ensure that every collaborator and partner has equal access to our services and projects. At the start of each project, we ask about access requirements and actively remove barriers that could prevent participation. We provide guidance and support to help individuals and organisations access media and storytelling opportunities they might otherwise miss. Our work is designed to empower people to share their voices on their own terms.

Diversity

Diversity is central to everything we do. We work with people across genders, sexualities, abilities, social backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures. Since 2020, our projects have highlighted a broad spectrum of voices — from designers born in North and South Asia, to festivals celebrating artists from the UK, the Caribbean, and South America, and to digital stories empowering creatives from Africa, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Every project is shaped in collaboration with diverse contributors and celebrates the richness of their lived experiences.

Inclusion

Inclusion is about making people feel valued, heard, and respected. We create environments where collaborators and audiences feel genuinely listened to — in person, online, and through the content we produce. We ensure voices are reflected in our work, actively solicit feedback, and adapt our approach based on responses. Inclusive leadership practices guide our projects to make every collaboration respectful, collaborative, and empowering.

Accessibility

Accessibility ensures that everyone can engage with our work, regardless of ability, age, or background. We design content, campaigns, and communications to be usable and understandable: using clear language, structured messaging, captions, and thoughtful visual design. We also use tools to check readability and age appropriateness, and we adapt materials on request to meet specific accessibility needs. Our aim is that all audiences can access, understand, and interact with our content.

Ongoing Commitment

Equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are not one-off considerations — they are part of everything we do. We engage in self-directed learning, consult with clients about their needs, and build scalable, repeatable practices that embed EDIA into every project. We actively support initiatives where inclusivity and accessibility are at the core, and we welcome dialogue, questions, and collaborations that advance EDIA across arts and culture.
