We Are Sensoria – Accessibility in Arts

A founder with a vision and a platform yet to exist. The work was to build it — and grow its community from the ground up.

Sensoria Our House, East London Dance

The Brief

WE ARE SENSORIA is an accessible arts platform founded by disabled artist Saskia Horton, established with Arts Council England funding to make arts events genuinely inclusive for neurodiverse, chronically ill and disabled artists. Saskia came to me at the start — before the platform had an audience, a digital presence or a public identity. The goal was to build all three from the ground up, and launch SENSORIA’s first public event at East London Dance.

The Approach

I delivered the full brand and marketing infrastructure for SENSORIA’s early stage: website design, social media strategy, digital content templates and email communications — all developed in close collaboration with Saskia and rooted in the platform’s values of accessibility and community. When it came to the launch of SENSORIA: Our House, I led the end-to-end marketing and communications — from event promotion through to community building from the platform’s very first followers.

The Results

Since launching in 2023, WE ARE SENSORIA has grown into a thriving platform with measurable community impact. From the 2024 impact report:

  • Over £25,000 raised for disabled artists and the SENSORIA community since launch

  • Connected with individuals across 33 countries through social media, website and email marketing

  • 50 disabled artists employed at SENSORIA events in 2024

  • 500+ members joining in-person and online

  • SENSORIA has since gone on to host accessible events with Southbank Centre, Peckham Levels, Chisenhale Dance Space, and other leading arts organisations.
